About Me

                                                                                           September 1, 2016

Dear Students,

My name is Mrs. Lesko and this is my sixth year teaching at Chapel Street Elementary School!  Prior to the start of my teaching career, I worked in Human Resources Management for 14 years.  So I love to share all of my real-life experiences, which help us make connections to what we are learning in the classroom!

I graduated from the University of Connecticut (go Huskies!) with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and years later, from Fairfield University with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.  I absolutely love teaching grade 5 at Chapel!  Though we are self-contained this year, the fifth grade team will continue to work closely together, sharing ideas and strategies, to ensure optimal learning for your child.

I love watching Huskies basketball (of course) and Mets baseball!  I have many hobbies as well.  I enjoy reading every chance I get and my favorite genre is historical fiction.  I like to bake (and eat) decadent desserts with my children.  In addition, I love to sing and will often bring music into the classroom to use as a learning tool.  I enjoy participating in fitness programs such as ZUMBA and kick boxing as I believe in order to have a healthy mind you need to have a strong, healthy body -- exercise is so important.  I am very happily married to my husband, Michael and we are lucky to have two beautiful daughters, Madeline and Audrey.  I am excited to be teaching you and I look forward to an exciting year filled with reading, sharing, and learning through exploration, questioning, and creativity!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Fondly,

                                                                                                                  Mrs. Lesko
