Meet Mrs. Marks

                                                        HELLO!

My background in education started when I received my Bachelor degree from CCSU in Fine Arts, concentrating in art.  I went on to receive my Master's degree in Special Education from SCSU.  Just recently, I completed my Sixth Year equivalent from Augustana College.

I have lived in Stratford my entire life and have gone through the school system myself.  I attended your very own Chapel St. School. Flood Middle School, and graduated from BHS. I am married to a wonderful husband and have two super boys of my own.  Spencer is 14 and attends SHS and Trevor is 9 and goes to Wilcoxson School.

This is my ninth year in the Stratford school system.  While I have been here, I have taught third and fourth grade as well as art.  My last eight years were spent at Wilcoxson School.  Before joining the Stratford school system, I taught in Bridgeport for eight years.  Again as a third grade teacher and art teacher.   Yes, I have been back and forth between being a classroom teacher and art teacher.  This is strictly due to budget cuts in the art department.  However, I feel that this experience gives me the opportunity to bring the two together to enhance my teaching.

I am very excited to be teaching art again, especially in the same school that I went to.  However, my room didn't even exist when I was here!  I hope to have a wonderfully creative time with all of the children.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me ([email protected]).

                                                                                                       Creatively Yours,

                                                                                                              Cristine Marks
