The ABCs of First Grade!
Attendance is very important! Please make sure your child arrives at school promptly by 8:45 every morning.
Backpacks! Students will need to bring their backpack to school everyday.
Communication is extremely important. Feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or concern.
Differentiation. Instruction will be geared towards each child's individual needs.
Email. My email address [email protected] I check my email several times a day and will try to get back to you quickly.
Footwear. Be sure that your child is wearing shoes that are appropriate for outside recess. Shoes must have a back
Grades. Remember first grade does not have a progress report or report card in the first trimester.
Homework. Homework packets will be given out on Monday. Please return them to school on Friday.
Illness. Please call the school if your child will be out sick.
Join the PTA! Get involved with your child's education right from the start
Kindness. Students are expected to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
Library books. Library books are due every Friday.
Money. Please send in any money in a sealed envelope labeled with your child's name and room number.
Notes. If you send a note to school make sure your child is aware that it is in his/her folder.
Outside play. We will go outside each day, weather permitting. Please be sure to dress your child appropriately.
Parent/teacher conferences will be held during October/November.
Questions. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them.
Rules. Please review our class rules with your child (Rules can be found on our class website). It's important that your child understands and follows our class rules.
Snack. Please send your child to school with a snack each day. Snack will be in the afternoon due to our 11:05 lunch time.
Transportation. Please send all transportation changes in writing in your child's daily folder.
Units of study. Each week a newsletter will go home with the homework packet, highlighting the week's units of study.
Volunteers. Volunteers are welcome in the classroom; please write me a note if you would like to volunteer.
Wish List. Throughout the year we may need special items to use in the classroom. A list will be sent home regarding this matter.
eXcel. Watch your child excel beyond what you thought was possible!

Zzzzz... Our school begins at 8:45 am. Please make sure your child has a reasonable bed time!
